Tickets available for guest lecture on ‘Plastic Pollution: Global Problem, Local Solutions’
Cobourg, ON (November 21, 2022) – Venture13 Innovation & Entrepreneurship Centre is pleased to invite the public to an upcoming guest lecture entitled ‘Plastic Pollution: Global Problem, Local Solutions’ on Thursday, December 8 at 7 p.m.
Plastic debris, including small microplastic particles often barely visible to the naked eye, are polluting our lakes, rivers, and oceans. Keynote speaker Dr. Chelsea Rochman — Professor of Ecology at University of Toronto and Co-founder and Director of the U of T Trash Team — will share recent insights into where the plastic in our water is coming from, how it’s breaking down, what this could mean for the ecosystem, as well as touch on solutions.
In addition, Jennifer Leno, Environmental Technician for the Town of Cobourg, will speak directly to Cobourg’s response to this problem. Attendees will learn about the big picture of the plastic pollution issue as well as what’s happening here in the Town of Cobourg.
Tickets are $20 (plus HST and fees) and are available to purchase at CobourgBoxOffice.ca. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., with the event taking place from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the seminar room at Venture13 Innovation & Entrepreneurship Centre, 739 D'Arcy Street in Cobourg.
