Civic Holiday Weekend Municipal Closures and Upcoming Community Events
Cobourg, ON (July 31, 2024) – The Town of Cobourg would like to advise residents of upcoming municipal building closures on Monday, August 5, 2024, in observance of the Civic Holiday.
Town of Cobourg municipal offices and buildings, including Victoria Hall, the Cobourg Community Centre, the Cobourg Public Library, Public Works Building 7 and the Venture13 Innovation and Entrepreneurship Centre will be closed on Monday, August 5, 2024.
Cobourg Transit will be running its regular hours of operation on the Civic Holiday.
Cobourg Community Centre – Weekend Hours
The Civic Holiday weekend hours of operation at the Cobourg Community Centre (750 D'Arcy Street) are as follows:
- Friday, August 2 – 7 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.
- Saturday, August 3 – 7 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
- Sunday, August 4 – 7 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
- Monday, August 5 – Closed
- Tuesday, August 6 – 7 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Movies in the Park

Enjoy a relaxing summer evening, free of charge, in Cobourg’s beautiful Victoria Park and watch the family-friendly movie IF. Bring your blanket or lawn chair and prepare to enjoy an exciting evening under the stars. If you are in the mood for dinner and a movie, stop by one of the waterfront food trucks, Toller Pizza, Leguan, and Murney’s Beachside Bites. Popcorn and snacks will also be available for sale.
James Cockburn Day

This year James Cockburn Day will be celebrated by a presentation called “Panning for Gold: Tiny Nuggets of Yesterday for Today.” Enjoy an interactive, engaging presentation about historic figures like Hon. James Cockburn, Father of Confederation and First Speaker of the House of Commons. Each piece is like a puzzle and is crucial to building a fuller picture of Cockburn and our history. The Concert Band of Cobourg

Explore the beautiful historic Victoria Hall building with a guided 45-minute tour showcasing various aspects of the architectural building. The Victoria Hall tours are conducted by our Experience Ambassador every Thursday morning from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Booking a time is encouraged, walk-ins are only available when the schedule permits.
