WPCP Environmental Objectives

The Town of Cobourg has developed the following Environmental Quality Objectives:

• Consistently and cost effectively produce effluent that meets or exceeds all Provincial, and Municipal Regulations for quality.
• Continuously improve Plant operations by establishing and maintaining a formal system to monitor, and provide corrective action for, all actual and reasonably foreseeable non-conforming situations that may impact the facility.
• Develop and maintain a controlled set of Standard Operating Procedures whose function will be to produce consistent, reliable, and reproducible results.
• On an annual basis, quantitatively assess all newly established and on-going quality initiatives and provide corrective or supplemental action as required to achieve the facility’s stated targets and objectives.
• Document all quality objectives, monitor their progress and effectiveness, and amend them as needed to ensure their timely implementation. Further, it will communicate these policies to its employees and provide them with the training necessary to competently achieve the goals of the facility.
• Make its environmental objectives available to the public through various forms of written, verbal, and visual communications.
