Paint and Signs

Heritage Planning Staff now provides approval for signage and paint colour applications according to the town's paint and sign guidelines.

Paint Colours

The Cobourg Heritage Colour Palette was developed to assist property and business owners when selecting heritage colours. The palette can also be viewed at the Town's Planning Department office.

Signage

To regulate signage and all other advertising devices in the Town of Cobourg, Council approved the Cobourg Sign By-law. This by-law provides regulations to allow our business community to promote themselves in a responsible manner.

Within the sign by-law are specific regulations to address the unique historical character of the Downtown area. Guidelines For Signage on Commercial Properties were developed to assist applicants in providing further details of what is required when developing a sign concept that will meet the heritage requirement. Included with these guidelines is the Cobourg Heritage Colour Palette .

General Information

Any heritage application must include pre-consultation with Town Staff as part of the approval process.
