Mission Statement
It is the mission of the Cobourg Fire Department, through the delivery of programs and services, to protect life and property in our community from the adverse effects of fire, sudden medical, environmental and other emergencies, both natural and man-made.
Communications
All calls to 9-1-1 are received by the Cobourg Police Service, which acts as the "Central Emergency Reporting Bureau ". They, in turn, dispatch the Cobourg Fire Department. All departments within the Town have operated on an 800 MHz trunked radio system since 1996. We also have the ability to operate on the County of Northumberland fire communications frequency.
Training
Training for the Cobourg Fire Department is based on the provincial " General Level Firefighter Curriculum ". This curriculum ensures that a high degree of competency is achieved and maintained in order to better serve the citizens of Cobourg. Department members also attend specialized courses, held throughout the province, to enhance their skills and knowledge.

The Cobourg Fire Department provides 24-hour emergency services including fire suppression, emergency medical care with defibrillation, awareness level hazardous materials response, entry level ice and cold water rescue, confined space rescue, vehicle extrication, and response to any other natural or accidental emergency.
